Physical Therapy:
Pediatric Physical Therapists work with children and their families to assist each child in reaching their maximal potential motor development to function independently and to actively participate in their home, school, and community environments.
Pediatric Physical Therapists address positioning, movement patterns, muscle control, range of motion, strength and endurance, gait and mobility, balance, and coordination, as well as motor planning, in order to enhance motor development and provide a foundation for future motor development.
Pediatric Physical Therapists work with families to ease challenges with daily caregiving and provide motor learning opportunities throughout daily routines. Besides enhancing motor development, they assist families by providing positioning and mobility options during daily routines and activities, adapting toys for play, providing adaptive equipment, acquiring bracing or orthotics, and providing information on physical and health care needs.
